Level Designer

Developing diverse games for various platforms keeps us creative and always aiming for the skies! We are looking for a Level Designer to join our team! As a Level Designer at Team6, you will: Design and communicate the gameplay experiences of your levels (landmarks, encounters, flow, rhythm, tension, pacing, variety, difficulty etc.) according to the creative vision. Drive your levels through the full level design pipeline; from paper design, to block out, to final product. Implement and configure gameplay events, triggers, and systems within your levels. Iterate on your levels based on playtesting feedback and internal reviews. Work closely with developers, designers, and artists to achieve the creative vision for the game. Participate in new game mechanics creation and contribute with new ideas for the game. REQUIRED SKILLS: Degree in Game Development, Level Design or equivalent education/experience 2+ years of experience as a Level Designer within the game industry Comprehensive knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5 and its level design tools to create and implement game environments, mechanics, and events Understanding of gameplay mechanics, player psychology, and how to create engaging and balanced gameplay experiences Understanding of level flow, pacing, and spatial design principles to guide player exploration and interaction and ability to articulate design principles, targets and guidelines for level design. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate design ideas clearly, and incorporate feedback Ability to proactively identify challenges, analyze root causes, and implement effective resolutions to ensure seamless project execution Ability to perceive scope, risks and prioritization for level features to meet deadlines A passion for games and a deep interest in exploring innovative ways to enhance player engagement Strong English communication skills in both verbal and written capacity DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with different development methodologies, experience with Agile and Waterfall methodology is a plus One or more released game titles on your name Proficient with basic geometry modelling in Blender/Maya Experience with Unreal blueprints or other visual scripting systems WHAT WE OFFER: Our name resembles our core beliefs, the best games are not made by individuals but by teams that have passion for games. Located in the same building as the cinema, library and theatre LOCATION: We strongly prefer candidates that live nearby the studio in Assen, the Netherlands, or are willing to relocate to a place nearby our studio as we require our new Level Designer to work on-site.
